How to join THSCC on Discord

Discord is where we plan events, share tips, talk cars, and help each other get faster. These steps are written for anyone who has not used Discord before. Discord is a separate service with its own account and terms of use.

Before you join the server

  1. You do not need paid THSCC membership to join the server and ask questions. Members verify separately so they can access member channels.
  2. Pick a phone or computer. Discord works in a web browser, but the mobile app is usually easiest on a phone. Download the official app from discord.com.
  3. Create a Discord account. You will use an email address and choose a password and display name. Your display name can be a screen name. Check your spam folder if you are waiting for a verification email from Discord.
  4. Use our invite link. Click the button below (opens in a new tab). If the button does not work, copy and paste this address into your browser:

After you join

What you will see first

In the channel list on the left, you should see channels such as Welcome, Announcements, General, and #ask-thscc. Exact names may match how they appear in your app.

Not a member yet, or just checking us out

Ask anything about autocross, HPDE, karting, or sim racing in #ask-thscc. We will help you figure out what is a good fit and what to do next.

Members: verify your membership

Verification connects your THSCC membership and pulls your car info to set your Discord nickname in a consistent format, so people recognize you at events and in chat. After verification, you get access to more than ten member-only channels.

In #general or #ask-thscc (or another channel where you can type messages), type /verify and press Enter. If Welcome or Announcements do not let you type, switch to one of those channels. When you type /, Discord may show a menu; choose verify if you see it.

The “Verify THSCC Membership” window

A popup titled Verify THSCC Membership should appear (THSCC logo at the top; you can close it with X if you need to cancel).

  • Yellow notice: The form is sent to THSCC Bot. Do not put your Discord password, email password, or other sensitive information in this form—only the two fields below.
  • MSR Member ID (required): This is your MotorsportReg member ID. It might look like THSCC-123, LT-123, or just 123.
Where to find it: Log in to MotorsportReg, open My Account on MotorsportReg, scroll to Organizations, and find your THSCC membership number there.
  • Last name (required): Use the same spelling as on your THSCC membership in MotorsportReg.
  • Click Submit to finish, or Cancel to close without sending.

If verification does not work, post in #ask-thscc and we will help.

Discord vs. events: Verifying on Discord is not the same as signing up for an event. For club membership and event registration, use Join THSCC and MotorsportReg.

If something goes wrong

  • Invite invalid or expired: Try the invite link again, or open it in a private/incognito window.
  • Wrong account: Make sure you are logged into the Discord account you want to use.
  • Email from Discord: Check spam or promotions folders if you are waiting to verify your email.
