Tarheel Sports Car Club
Welcome to the Tarheel Sports Car Club home page. THSCC is an independent club which conducts autocrosses and rallyes at various sites throughout Eastern and Central North Carolina.
Club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, January through November, at Ryan’s Family Steak House, on the corner of Millbrook Rd. and Atlantic Ave. in Raleigh, N.C. Dinner starts at 7:00 P.M., and the meeting starts at 8:00 P.M.
Founded in 1964 in Wilson, N.C., THSCC is proud to be known as North Carolina’s Premier Amateur Motorsports Organization!
Autocross Information
THSCC conducts its own Autocross championship series. THSCC is also a sponsoring club of the North Carolina Autocross Championship series. In 1996, THSCC will host two NCAC events.
THSCC’s Autocross Championship series rules are based on the current SCCA Solo II rules. In addition to the classes defined by the SCCA, we have a special “Street Tire” class. (We define a “street tire” as any DOT-approved tire that has a treadwear rating of 140 or greater.) The PAX index is used to adjust times between cars that would normally compete in different Solo II classes.

The second stop on the THSCC autocross championship trail is also the second NCAC autocross of 1996. The course is laid out on the concrete runways and taxiways of a WWII air base. Popular with the high-horsepower crowd, but a real hoot no matter what you drive, this site really challenges the driver’s car control skills.

- We request that all vehicles have some kind of muffling device. There is no DB limit, but please be reasonable. With several churches in the area, we must be good neighbors.

This event always seems to attract a large number of novices.
