This is the homepage of the first THSCC website. On the morning of March 26, 1996, club member Art McDonald sent this page, and one other for event results, to club member Tom Fulton. Later that same day, Tom posted the two pages to his personal web space on his employer's web server and THSCC entered cyberspace!

Autocross Information

THSCC conducts its own Autocross championship series. THSCC is also a sponsoring club of the
North Carolina Autocross Championship series. In 1996, two THSCC will host two NCAC events.

THSCC's Autocross Champoinship series rules are based on the current SCCA Solo II rules. In addition to the classes defined by the SCCA, we have a special "Street Tire" class. (We define a "street tire" as any DOT-approved tire that has a treadwear rating of 140 or greater.) The PAX index is used to adjust times between cars that would normally compete in different Solo II classes.

BFG/Car Guys/NCAC Autocross at Laurinburg/Maxton Airport, March 31

The second stop on the THSCC autocross championship trail is also the second NCAC autocross of 1996. The course is laid out on the concrete runways and taxiways of a WWII air base. Popular with the high-horsepower crowd, but a real hoot no matter what you drive, this site really challenges the driver's car control skills.

Sponsors for the NCAC series are B.F. Goodrich Tires Team T/A and Car Guys On-Track Driver Education. Click here for directions to the site.

Eighth Annual Wilson Invitational Autocross, September 15

This is our famous street autocross, sponsored by the Wilson Downtown Development Corporation. Since this event is conducted on city streets, please note:
  • This is an invitational event. The invitation list is comprised of drivers who have run the event in the past, or have competed in previous THSCC events. Drivers must have 2 years of autocross experience, or have completed 2 Car Guys driving schools.
  • We request that all vehicles have some kind of muffling device. There is no DB limit, but please be reasonable. With several churches in the area, we must be good neighbors.

Autocross at Morrisville, NC, October 6

In October we return to the Belk-Leggett Distribution Center in Morrisville, NC, for our 7th championship autocross. This event always seems to attract a large number of novices. If you haven't autocrossed before and want to give it a try, or if you just want to sit on the bank and spectate, this is a great opportunity! Click here for directions to the site.
