Proving it's never too late for "plowing" we've decided to go farming for Rally-X
points event#5. The unique blend of Eastern North Carolina topsoil, grasses and weeds
offers racers the opportunity to carve their own line (literally). This site always yields
fun runs, with each successive run differing slightly from the last due to changing
conditions. As always, "plowing" is permitted for those who wish to scrub speed or
change tires. We are however discouraging "harrowing" activities. {For the non-farm
folks; harrow = : a cultivating implement set with spikes, spring teeth, or disks and
used primarily for pulverizing and smoothing the soil; or = : torment, vex} If you join
us for this event we will make sure you are neither tormented nor vexed.
Come and plan to have fun. Bring lots of sunscreen and water as it is supposed to
be hot! (It is, after all, NC in the summer time). Christine will again be selling sub
sandwiches onsite (ham, or turkey) with full meals including drink, chips, and a dessert
for a very reasonable price ($5)
Pete's wardrobe recommendation is long trousers if you have tender calves (just in
case you want to take a short cut to the worker station through the tall grasses).
"Tender calves"…hmmm, we're definitely down on the farm. "Tender Calves" could be the
next big restaurant chain.
Finally, please remember that we will be guests on private property, and our good
behavior everywhere on the property, including the driveway/access road, is critical
to our continued use of this great site. Please help us make this event a success!
Online registration is not required, however people who have signed up online in
advance will be given priority over walk-ups, so if you're serious, don't wait to
sign up! Online registration is fast and easy- do that here.
The course will look
something like this,
we just haven’t figured out how the segments will join.
This event will be fun! More information is not yet available,
but in the meantime, why not
It's fast and easy, and it reserves you a space. You can always delete your entry later!
