It's that time again!!! That's right folks, it's the 2007 Annual Test-n-Tune! Time to shake the rust off and work the bugs out. Here is some basic info on how the event will be run this year:
  • This event will be limited to 60 participants. If you have preregistered and cannot attend, PLEASE, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR NAME from the preregistration file!
  • There will be no need for numbers at this event and, obviously, no scoring.
  • This event will not be open to drivers who have run fewer than 3 autocrosses with Tarheel or some other club (i.e., no true novices).
  • At this time, this event is open to members only. If you are not a member, but were hoping to come out and shake out the cobwebs, check back here closer to the event date. If all 60 slots have not been filled by THSCC members, this event may open to non-members.
  • You can leave the site during the day but remember, Laurinburg is not close to gas stations, air, food, and so forth. In other words, bring everything you need with you (food, gas, drinks, tools, etc).
  • No overnight camping is allowed on site! Gates will open at 7:30a.m. the morning of the event.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO WANDERING AROUND THE AIRPORT. STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF OUR ALLOTTED EVENT SPACE!

ENTRANCE
For this event, the Golden Knights entrance will be used. Gate workers should be at the entrance to have you sign the waiver, and to provide handouts for the day's activities.

PIT AREA
For this event, the pit area will be located on the taxiway at the south end of the facility (between the Golden Knights area and the main runway. Look for the designated area (marked with cones) when you arrive.

LAYOUT - WORKING/RUNNING

There will be two primary areas being used for the TnT event this year, which have been designed by Rob Harvey and Cosby Wood. We will have one traditional style course (timed) setup on the south end of the main runway. We will also have a second (untimed) course at the traditional "P" section. At the north end of the main runway we will have a skid pad setup for steady state suspension testing as well as an 8-10 cone slalom course (start->slalom->pivot turn->slalom->finish configuration) for transitional suspension testing.

We will split the attendees into two groups. One group will report to each course. Those groups will then be split as half will run while the other half works. We will either go with a set number of runs or a set time to determine when to switch between groups, which will be announced at the drivers meeting.

After each group gets finishes their morning course runs, we will take a short break for lunch. After lunch, the two groups will swap courses and we will start running again.

If time allows we may do "fun runs" on the timed course, but remember until DST begins it will get dark early. Cross your fingers, but don't count on it!

ANNUAL TECH
At the Test-n-Tune, there will be an annual tech station. Similar to last year, this will give everyone the chance to get their car signed off for the rest of the year. You will also receive a sticker showing that you completed annual tech. Of course, you will still have to tech your own car at every event even after receiving your annual tech sticker. The tech station will be set up before the event and will close once the event begins. Tech forms will be available at the tech station, or you can print one from here and bring it with you.

ANNUAL TECH
Bring your own. There is a Hardees kind of close by.
