Event chairs Todd and Adam Breakey want to welcome everyone to Slaloms on a Course at the Danville Airport. With all the talk lately about how we need slaloms, or that slaloms are bad, Todd and Adam have designed a course that will make some of you happy; some, not so much. Either way, you won’t want to miss this fun course!!!

First a few warnings:
Danville Airport is an ACTIVE airport. That means some areas of the airport are off limits. Those areas will be clearly marked, and we are NOT permitted in any of those areas! Punishments are handed out by the local Airport Authorities and the FAA and can be quite severe.

We will be using the small side entrance, so look for the usual pointer cones and Autocross Sign. The entrance is at the base of a very steep hill, so if you have an underpowered tow vehicle, this is your warning!

Pit space will be VERY tight, so please make the extra effort to minimize the width of your pit area! If you have a trailer of any type, please try to park it on the grass next to your pit area to free up as much room as possible. The Airport Management has given us permission to park on the grass, so that should be a big help.

Novices Should:

  • Get to the site early!!
  • Get your cars emptied and teched.
  • Be at the 9:30am Mandatory Novice Meeting on time.
  • Get to the site early enough to get several course walks in before the Novice Meeting.
  • If you get confused or need help figuring out the course, ask someone. We will be more than happy to help.
EVERYONE SHOULD -- Mark Your Car Properly!!!
If you do not have magnetic letters and numbers for your car, please...

Print Your Numbers
and
Print Your Class

for BOTH SIDES of your car. Bring your preprinted paper class and numbers to the event along with and tape to affix them, and make sure they are securely affixed to BOTH SIDES of your car before it's time for you to run. Todd is the head of Scoring and will beat you if you don’t have your car marked properly. Or worse, yes it can get worse, you'll end up with no run times for the day!

As usual, be sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of fluids. Also, it is September and you might need a jacket, who knows. And, as always, remember that it is your responsibility to take home all trash that you generate at the site.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
