Hello, Chick Students!
We hope you are all looking forward to the upcoming Chicks Only Autocross School. It promises to be tons of fun for everyone and we hope you have all signed up for the autocross event the next day at the same site. We can’t wait to see you show off all you’ve learned.
Here are a few details about the event. For those who may want to spend the night either Friday or Saturday in Danville, THSCC has a special rate of $70/night at the Sleep Inn across from the airport. The number is 434-793-6090. Be sure to tell them you are with THSCC to get the special rate!
The gates will open at 7:45am on Saturday and Registration and Tech will begin at 8:00am. When you arrive, you will be directed to the pit area where you should remove all loose items from your car, including floor mats. Be sure to check your trunk! Please keep your trunk and hood open for tech. Someone will check your car to be sure it is safe for autocross. You will also want to pump up the air pressure in your tires to about 5 pounds over the recommended psi. This will minimize wear and tear on your tires.
Next you will head over to the registration table which will be next to the bus. There, you will check in just as if you are at a regular autocross. Stay close to the bus as there will be a driver’s meeting about 9:15. Then, get ready to drive!! Each student will be placed in either Group A, B or C. Group A will drive first, Group B will be preparing to drive/taking a break, and Group C will be working course. The groups will rotate throughout the day.
A few items you should bring along to make your day as comfortable and relaxed as possible:
- Bring a helmet if you have one. If not, we will have plenty of loaners available.
- Air compressor to pump up your tires. Again, don’t worry if you don’t have one.
- A hat – it is the middle of summer! Besides, you will all have helmet hair you will want to cover. :-)
- Sunscreen.
- Comfortable shoes – please do not try to drive in sandals, flip/flops, or any kind of heels!!
- Water – we will have some available, but it is always good to bring your own. Gatorade is also a good thirst quencher.
- Rain jacket – just in case.
- Bug spray.
- A plastic tarp. Not a necessary item, but you'll be emptying every loose item from your car and a tarp on the ground is a good place to put it, especially if there is a possibility of rain.

Lunch will be provided – sub sandwiches, chips, dessert, and drinks. You should bring with you anything other than these items that you think you might like to have.
We look forward to seeing you all there! If you have any additional questions, please send them to the Chicks School Chairs.
