Welcome to the Fall "Double Trouble" Autocross School. The school is designed for Novice and Intermediate students with less than two years or less than 16 events of autocross experience. (If we do not fill up the school, we will relax that criteria one to two weeks prior to the event). You do not have to be a club member to participate in this school. Please pay via PayPal for the school ahead of time as this will greatly help us with registration.

IMPORTANT: For the School only (not the event on Sunday), students with less than 8 events should register in NOV class on the reg form. Students with 8 events or more should register as PRO. This is just to help us keep track of rough experience levels of our students.

Lunch will be provided with your event fee, but bring plenty of water!

This school is being designed with a relaxed format. We will focus on quality instruction rather than quantity of seat time. Expect to get at least 5 to 6 runs on a full course with an instructor, and 3-4 runs riding in an instructor's car. We will also have a detailed course walk and analysis in the afternoon. For those of you who have done THSCC track schools, this format may remind you of those, with Novice, Intermediate, and Instructor Groups. We will have a speaker during lunch.

When you preregister, please provide a VALID email address and PHONE NUMBER on the prereg form. Our plan is to provide each student with a dedicated instructor for each run session. This will provide an environment where you can learn a great deal from your instructor! After you have preregistered, if your plans change and you cannot come, PLEASE UNPREREGISTER yourself from this event as soon as you find out.

We realize this event is starting early, but PLEASE be on time so that we can start runs on time!

We will be using the old Burch Industries entrance - see directions info below. Look for 1 or more orange cones marking the site entrance.

Notes For First Time Novices: If you've never done this before, do some reading before you come. You can start by clicking on this link and reading the Novice Handbook and other info found on our Novice Tips page. You should also know that this event site is not very near anything at all! Be sure to get gas, air, snacks, etc. before you get close to the airport! Come in the morning and don't expect to leave the site until after the school is over.

For directions to the site and hotel info, click on "Laurinburg-Maxton Airport" at the top of this page.

Alternate Directions to Event Site: Due to road closings at Hill Creek Road, here are alternate directions:

  • Take US 1 south to Southern Pines/Aberdeen.
  • At the south end of Aberdeen, turn left on US 15-501, continuing through Hoke County into Scotland County. Follow 15 South all the way to 74 Bypass in Laurinburg.
  • Head east on 74 Bypass.
  • About 6 miles east of the US 74 Bypass/US 15-501 Bypass interchange (near the Laurinburg Comfort Inn), exit on Airport Rd. (Laurinburg/Maxton exit).
  • Turn right and follow Airport Rd. 0.6 miles to a stop sign at the intersection with Skyway Church Rd.
  • Turn right onto Skyway Church Rd. and go 1 mile to a left turn onto Hickman Rd.
  • Follow Hickman Rd 0.5 miles to a Y-intersection.
  • The "Burch Industries" entrance is be just past the buildings on your left about a mile after the Y-intersection.
  • Look for a sign or traffic cone marking the entrance.

NOTE: From Raleigh, you can also take I-40 to I-95 South, then take Exit 14, Hwy 74 West until you get to the Airport Road Exit. Then follow the directions above to the Burch Industries entrance.

We have secured the Hampton Inn (same one we used for the 40th anniversary event). We have a corporate rate available at $62/day for a double and $65/day for a king. A block of rooms has been locked for Friday and Saturday night. The room type is first come first serve. There are currently about 40-45 rooms available at the hotel. So don't delay making your reservations. You are allowed to have more than 2 people per room at no extra charge.

Our corporate code is THSCC. If you tell the folks at the desk you're with the "Sports Car Club" they will know who you are. Our confirmation number is 88271091. This is for everyone.

Call the hotel directly to make your reservations. 910-277-1516.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Your Event Chairs,
Miles Beam & Graham Jagger
