Event Chairs, Patrice Bousquet and Frank Catena, have an exciting event planned for Saturday, August 9 at the RBC Center in Raleigh. In addition to the normal event format, they are coordinating a team challenge.
The event will also include a special tent with Colony Tire goodies. For the “overall” winners (FTD, FTPAX, etc), Colony Tire will be providing some big trophies, so bring out you’re a game for this event.
Other details...
This will be a full event. We are planning to run the same 4-run-group format that we ran in Sanford last month.
The field will be split into 4 run groups of about 40-50 cars each. Each group will run all 4 runs in one heat. Classes will be split into groups closer to the event date and announced on the email lists, the THSCC website, and at the event.
The run/work order will be as follows:
| Group 1........ |
Runs 1st....... |
Works 3rd |
| (Group 1 drivers, please grid your cars before coming to the Drivers' Meeting.) |
|
| Group 2........ |
Runs 2nd...... |
Works 4th |
|
| Group 3........ |
Runs 3rd....... |
Works 1st |
|
| Group 4........ |
Runs 4th....... |
Works 2nd |
Check in with the Worker Coordinator before going out to work. Please stay aware of what is happening during the event so that you will know when it is time for you to work. We will also fly a flag from the bus when it is time for workers to check in for the next heat.
Preliminary Run Groups are as follows:
| Group 1 = |
AS, BSP, CS, CSP, DM, ESP |
|
| Group 2 = |
BS, DS, DSP, EM, EP, ES, CP |
|
| Group 3 = |
FS, FSP, GS, HS, SS, ASP, AM |
|
| Group 4 = |
PRO, SS, SM, SSM(SM2), STS, STX |
These groupings are subject to change at the event if needed to balance the heats. Please attend the Drivers' Meeting to make sure you know the final groupings.
Novice and Street Tire classes will run with the open classes of their respective index classes, as will all ladies classes. That is, if you are running NOV or TIR class and your car is an A Stock car or if you are running A Stock Ladies, you will run and work at the same time the A Stock open class does.
"Proper" numbers are required for BOTH sides of your car. Please refer to Car Class Letter and Number Specifications to read about our definition of "proper". Numbers must be of the correct size and no shoe polish numbers will be allowed. We will have paper numbers available on site, but please invest in some magnetics (or something that doesn't look all "ghetto"). We will be checking class/numbers before you are released from grid; no numbers = no runs.
You will be given a Supplemental Slip at Registration. Please make sure that the information in the top right corner exactly matches the class/numbers on your car (and your correct index class if you are running NOV, TIR, or PRO). If the information does not match, you should return to Registration and get this information corrected before the event begins. If we don't have the same information in our computer that you have on your car, we will not be able to identify you on course and it is quite likely that you will not get any times for your runs!
Two-driver cars, please make sure that you are classed/numbered correctly each time the driver changes!! If you run with your co-driver's class/number, it is quite likely that you will not receive a time for that run.
As always...
Be prepared for the sun and heat -- & rain.
Take home at least as much trash as you generate.
The speed limit on the site is 5 MPH everywhere except on course.
See you there!
